Travel in Style

Travel in Style

One thing I love as much as traveling is FASHION, so when I get to combine the 2 it makes me very happy.  I, like most girls, love to pack lots of cute clothes for vacations.  You always want to look chic for pictures, but I also like to dress cute for the actual travel part.  Now, when I say "cute" that doesn't mean expensive!  For anyone that knows me I am the BIGGEST bargain shopper, I literally won't buy anything at retail.  If I RARELY buy anything at full price, it is for CLASSIC items that NEVER go on sale and will never go out of style.  For me, this is usually accessories :)

Requirements for my travel style, cute-yet comfortable!  Usually involves flats and layers. I love to wear scarves on planes, you just never know when they will be FREEZING or extremely HOT!

Selfie in an airport bathroom on my last vacation. Gianni Bini Flats(Dillards), Jessica Simpson Maxi skirt (Dillards) White Tank(JcPenny) ALL on CLEARANCE and of course a LARGE purse to hold EVERYTHING ;)

Some great celebrity fall/winter looks. Flats or boots with layers and large bags!

I love Maxi dresses and Maxi skirts for summer travel! Most people think it looks "dressed up" and I think they feel like pajamas!  It takes as must effort to put this on as a t-shirt and shorts, and in my opinion WAY more comfortable and CHIC! Love Kim's jacket for extra layers and I LOVE Ashley's carryon :)

Thanks friends!  Happy Travels!

We have been home a little over a week from our vacation, trying to get back into the groove of reality and missing vacation life.  We had a great time, lots of busy moments and lots of relaxing moments.  We love the resorts, there is so much R&R to be had and lots of fun kids activities, so we only spent 2 days at the parks.  One day at Magic Kingdom and one day at Animal Kingdom.  Hudson is only 2, so we will have lots of future trips for him to experience the other parks.  Plus, it was little later in spring than I usually prefer to go.  I like the end of April, before it gets TOO HOT and kids aren't out of school yet.  Going the end of May we had to deal with the start of the extreme Florida humidity and summer break starting for kids(which means summer crowds)!

I have lots of pictures to sort through, but here are a few favorites of Hudson experiencing Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom

Hudson on the Teacups at Magic Kingdom, this face reminds me of the Disney ads of kids getting surprised with a vacation and I almost start crying :)
Meeting Mickey, Hudson was so excited he actually pushed through the line when he first spotted him and slipped through our grasps and interrupted another family's picture...opps
Maddie(my 14 year old niece), Hudson and I on the carousel, one of his favorite rides.  He got quite upset when the rides were over, he didn't understand why he couldn't just stay on and keep going.

I have lots of other things to chat about from this vacation, so until next time...happy travels my friends!

New Adventures

Welcome to the first Chic Travelista post! I am so excited to announce my new blog and my new career!  As my bio says, I have a love for all things travel and I have been planning trips for family and friends for years.  I decided to take my planning skills to the professional level and have begun working as a travel concierge for The Travel Junkie in Wichita, Kansas.  I will be doing what I have always loved; planning VACATIONS, but now I just get to help more people!  Want to know one of the best things in contacting me as your travel planner??  Free service provided to you, my client!  You heard that right! It is just one of the perks!!!  So, unless you are like me and love all the little, tedious details of planning vacations; and I am finding most people don’t, it is a no brainer to have a professional travel planner help with your next vacation, weekend getaway, honeymoon, babymoon, etc.

I want to use this blog as way to share my personal vacations and travel experiences.  I will share topics about great places to visit, traveling fashionably, how to do Disney trips, money saving tips, and how to fly with a toddler and to never do so while wearing white pants. That will be a story for a different post.
Speaking of Disney, we are about to depart for another Florida vacation. I have spent this week scrambling from the aftermath of a garage sale, to prepare for our vacation.  As all you moms know, we not only cover the things we need for the trip, but also what everyone else in the house needs.  We pack for the youngest child all the way up to the grown man child….the hubby ;) Just kidding…love you babe!  My mind has had about 50 different to-do lists running through it the past few days.  Doing all this while I have been quoting vacations for clients and I wanting to get my blog up before we leave.

So here it is! Completely scattered and rambling, but that is how my week has been.  We are so EXCITED to go to Orlando! This is Hudson’s second trip to Disney; however, I think this is his first time to really experience the “magic” of Walt Disney World.  We will have lots of time with family and friends, pool time, play time, and of course a couple days at some Disney parks, and even Sea World.  I cannot wait to show you all the pictures and to bring back lots of stories and tips!  Here's to safe and happy travels!
Hope you all have a blessed weekend!
